And if you stick with fad diets for extended time, you might build up nutritional deficiencies.

Generally, fad diets are boring. After first few days, you might not like these foods and most likely to stop this diet. Lots of fad diets do not allow having enough intakes of vegetables & fruits. Hence, you might develop deficiencies of necessary nutrients like vitamins and minerals.

Our body needs right proportion of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. This need is not satisfied through low-fat or low-carb diets. Very low-carb diets have high quantity of proteins. This high-protein diet is not at all appropriate for people having constant kidney diseases. Very low-carb diets leave out whole grains. There might be deficiency of thiamine (B1), magnesium, fiber, and folate.
